What Our Guests Say
Lake Erie Campground is truly a special place to be with nature. Mt. Erie overlooking the lake and campground is a beautiful site to see. A place where you’ll fall in love with the scenery especially during sun down.
The campground is roughly a 10 minute drive to the nearest town and to Deception Pass, along with the endless hiking trails, rock climbing, kayaking/paddle boarding, with fishing for bass and trout. It also has a little convenient market with the best ice cream and coffee in town! Their affogato (any ice cream and a shot of espresso) is so deliciously amazing! I had it everyday! Not to mention the new owner and employees are super friendly and filled with historical knowledge. I love how the owner kept the history and authenticity of the market inspired by the previous owners dating back to the speakeasy days.
A perk to this place is the easy access and convenience to book online ahead of time or even the day/night of. The absolute best of both worlds for regular tent/car campers or RV/trailer with full hookup sites available! Plus side, it is pet friendly! Although, I recommend all pet owners to abide by the leash rule out of respect for the other campers! Easiest rule to follow to get absolute peace of mind for pet owners.
My husband and I absolutely loved this place when we camped in July with our RV trailer and our 4 month old son. We decided to come back a month later with a ton of our friends and their kiddos with their own RVs and tents. We enjoyed every minute of it and the unforgettable memories we made. We plan to come back every year!

STORE
About Us
Hi there! I’m Amy Fogle and my husband and I recently bought Lake Erie Campground as well as the Coffee & Mercantile. This wonderful destination has been around for more than a century, in different forms. The Mercantile’s building is a treasured piece of Fidalgo Island and Anacortes history.
The previous proprietors of the store envisioned this special spot as a true home away from home, where comfort meets adventure. That’s the tradition we’re carrying forward. Everyone we meet seems to have a fond memory to share about the campground and the store. We look forward to helping new visitors and returning guests make more wonderful Pac Northwest memories.
